Twirling around

Hey again guys! It's a Tuesday night and instead of doing the dishes, I'm blogging! Haha. I just cooked myself a good rice dish and now the kitchen is a mess but I just had to put my feet up after a long day at work.

I've been shopping online like a crazy rich person, but I needed some dresses so I got me some! We had a little taste of Summer last week and I got very much wear out of my smock dresses from Asos!

The keywords here are 'print' and 'relaxed'! These dresses are such a blessing, I hardly feel comfortable in dresses because most of the shapes I've ever tried on were uncomfortable or unflattering. I have sort of a boyish/apple-y frame (read: not much of a defined waist and a wee bit of a tummy) which is why I rarely ever wear tight clothes and avoid cinched waists like the plague. These are a BLESSING. Let me continue on this Asos-spree of smocked awesomeness with you:

Pull & Bear €40   Asos €60

I should REALLY stop the online window shoppin', at least until I get my wardrobe sorted out! I still have so many things at my parents' house and even around my own apartment I still have a few boxes left to unpack which I think are filled with more clothes! It's times like these when I do feel like I should give back, to those less fortunate than I, I just don't quite know where to start.

Okay it's getting late. I should hit the bed and make sure I don't sleep right through my alarm clock. Again.

*Sigh*

Also: My kitty cat Enya will be staying with me for a while starting next weekend! I'm so excited to have my baby girl with me as I miss her purs, her furs and her itty bitty bitch slaps haha.

Monday Evenings

Not a cell in my brain has ever thought I would enjoy a Monday Evening. I've had quite the weekend, kicking off Thursday evening, with a sudden fever. I crawled into bed straight after work hoping the fever would break by morning because Friday was going to be a big day: I had my frikkin' driver's test!

Snotty nose and silly mistakes aside, I aced dat shiz! Tomorrow I'm heading to the photo booth (let's cross our fingers for a good hair day!) for some mug shots and Wednesday morning I hope to prance out of City Hall waving my Proper Drivers License around!

Friday night I went out to see Dance Gavin Dance but the true highlight of the evening turned out to be Closure In Moscow, and duuuude they were great. I'm totally crushing on their lead singer because the man is basically FABULOUS.

Green hair, oddly metallic outfit, make up, A CROWN!! Add to that an Australian accent and a ton of stage presence and BOOM I'm sold. I'm just gonna go and study their lyrics so that next time I see them I'll be able to sing along like a batcrap crazy person.

This is a GIF I made because I liked the way the curtains were billowing up in the wind. I really hope we're finally heading into Spring now, but I'm sure you've read about the shitty weather in basically the entire European continent on other blogs too.

In other news, I have been brainstorming on how to put this space on the web of mine to a better use. I'm not sure what I'd like this blog to be, I'd like the content to be a bit more substantial than random posts with pictures of curtains and sassy Australian vocalists, you know? Your input, because obviously I want you to READ THIS SHIZ, would be greatly appreciated!

So I guess I shall end with this question to you, my readers:
What would you like to see on this blog?
Should I make better use of the plethora of social media available?
Should I dye my hair green and start a band?
WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE Y'ALL?

Well, that escalated quickly /Ron Burgundy voice

Settling in.

Hello dear readers! I was chillaxin' after a good round of cleaning and I figured, hey let's photograph these pretty earrings I bought yesterday!

€9,95 - H&M Trend

Quartz stone - Ikea frame - Urban Outfitters frame - Ikea bottle

My parents are coming over for a visit tomorrow which explains the frantic cleaning I've done all day. I kinda want to wow them with my amazing housekeeping skills since they've seemed quite indifferent to  me moving out and all. The place is now pretty much spotless (though I've skipped a shelf here and there just so it wouldn't be all super obvious that prior to their visit this was like a big concrete laundry basket), and I'm in my couch with my feet up, chillin' a bit until I get ready for a night out.

So I finally found the earrings I'd been going up and down all three H&Ms in the local shopping street for the past four weeks. I must say I was a bit underwhelmed when I saw them in real life (just like I have been with all the things I see product photos of on their website prior to visiting the store) but the colour palette is still pretty amazing so I had to buy them anyway.

On a related topic, I haven't been having as much trouble cutting back on shopping as I thought I would. Yay! I did splurge yesterday, I bought a knit top and two t-shirts at New Yorker of all places, but they were all marked down and I managed to get all'o'dat for a little under €24. Yay me!

I'm still super happy due to last night's surprise visit by my bestie Sarah and her husband. We bonded over giggles and lunch time when we both worked at AllSaints back in the day, now it's harder to keep in touch but I think a friendship as solid as ours doesn't need that much maintenance.

I'm pretty sure the caffeine is wearing off so I'm just going to end this rand and perhaps have a little nap. I've TOTALLY deserved it!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend! x

May 14

Hey there! I can't believe we're already half way through May... The past month and a half have gone so fast even though it seems like I've been in my apartment forever!
Moving to the city's been such a great decision and has definitely improved my social life. I love having friends over, going bar hopping or just have a casual meal at McD's. The good life!

Soon I will have to go through the agony of my driving test. I'm pretty sure I'll fail the first time as I've been driving alone for a while now and have gathered a few mannerisms I should get rid of fast: Driving with one hand on the wheel and one on the stick, for example. And grabbing for mints when I'm at a red light (it's almost compulsive and I don't even like mints that much).

On to some photos!

I got this super pretty headband on eBay for like €3. I'd been looking for nice hair accessories because I've been wearing my hair up in a bun a lot these days and €3 that's like, a sammich!

My new favourite perfume. Let me quickly review it: IT SMELLS SO GUUD MAN!

Inspired by a pin I saw on Pinterest, I made these frozen yoghurt covered berries. Some of them were really nice. Others were sour and yuck.
Funky, because the berries I ate before freezing were all sweet? Perhaps freezing berries make them gross and blergh?

I've been trying really hard to get my ass back into drawing and painting. Now that I live alone I have all the space I could ever want to get messy but I'm starting to fear I'm actually just extremely lazy. I know I have serious issues with failure but could they be that serious that I feel nothing but paralyzed whenever I want to start some kind of creative process?
And where the fuck did this go wrong?
Most importantly: How do I solve it?
WHAT THE FUCK YOU GUYS.

/end rant

I'm gonna fish the last few socks out of the washer then get some sleep. Perhaps in a next post I will elaborate on the batcrap crazy dreams I've been having lately!

Soon, along with that apartment tour I promised. (I'm not done hanging pictures and moving stuff around!!)

Silver Spurs

Hey everyone! I present to you, my first blog post from my new place! It's nowhere near done but if you follow me on Facebook you might have noticed I have officially moved in. It's been a struggle at times, the moving, the shopping, the building Ikea furniture, but with a little help from my friends, I managed to make a home out of this apartment.

Since it's been 6 months sine my last outfit post (YIKES!) I figured this was way overdue:

Winged eyeliner and orangey lipstick (H&M)

That would be me pretending to be a Person of Average Height

And this is a detail of either my butt or the print on my jeans. Whichever way you want, really.

Top and bag (old) from Urban Outfitters
Necklace from Forever21
Paisley printed jeans from Zara
Sandals from Clarks

I haven't quite figured out the best place for outfit photos yet but for now, this will do. I mostly went for this corner because it's the only corner that doesn't have boxes and bags and what not haha. And curtains dammit, I need sheer curtains! There are traffic lights in the street I live in and I always get the feeling people can look right into my living room, which is awkward if you're posing for a camera hahaha.

I'm just gonna go and make me some dinner and watch another epi of The Cleveland Show now. I hope you guys had a great weekend and chins up for the work week!

PS: YES I will be doing a tour of my place once everything is in order but as I said it's a mess right now and my couch doesn't even have a couch cover hence the blanket I threw over it haha. Soon, my friends, soon!
